Family life

Betty and Foi travelled together,  Betty took part in art seminars, painted extensively and introduced children into arts and painting; several of her pupils later became artists themselves.

In 1967 Betty's husband Frank died.  The whole responsibility for the family,  particularly for 11-year-old Anne, now lay with Betty. Maybe her expressive

, painted in one of the following years, somehow shows the strong impact of this burden and her ability to cope with it.
